چکیده

Experiments were performed to investigate the collapse dynamics of a cavitating bubble generated between pair symmetrically arranged oblique plates. A 2.0 mm gap was left at converging end two plates, which inclined an angle 10°. focused laser beam cavitation about 4.0 in diameter, four different locations that placed on centerline glass high-speed camera captured bubble's frame rate 75 kHz. The initial position and, thus, boundary conditions significantly influenced dynamics. first collapses showed distinct unidirectional extended jetting but without notch formation surface. Subsequent led intense nucleation, feature useful microfluidic devices. Further on, we observed vertical pillar-shaped cavities, floating toroids, etc., shapes rarely mentioned previous investigations. To support our experimental results, numerical simulations based solving Navier–Stokes equations, replicate similar Our results provided insight into thereby potentially contributing improved understanding pumping techniques, surface cleaning devices, fouling complex shapes, biomedical devices employing cavitation-based methods, and micromixing fluids. Results these experiments may serve also as benchmark data validate methods.

Cavitation bubble dynamics.

The dynamics of cavitation bubbles on water is investigated for bubbles produced optically and acoustically. Single bubble dynamics is studied with laser produced bubbles and high speed photography with framing rates up to 20.8 million frames per second. Examples for jet formation and shock wave emission are given. Acoustic cavitation is produced in water in the interior of piezoelectric cylind...

Acoustic Cavitation and Bubble Dynamics 611

Acoustic cavitation is investigated experimentally and theoretically starting with a single bubble in an acoustic field. The single bubble is trapped in an acoustic resonator and observed by high-speed imaging and acoustic measurements following its transient dynamics to a possible steady state after generation by laser light. Numerical calculations are done to explore the regions of survival f...

Cavitation Bubble Dynamics and Noise Production

This paper presents a summary of some recent observations of the interaction between individual traveling cavitation bubbles and the nearly solid surface. These reveal a complex micro-fluid-mechanics associated withThe interaction of the bubble with the boundary layer, the surface and the large pressure gradients exterior to the boundary layer which normally occur in the vicinity of a minimum p...

Cavitation bubble dynamics in microfluidic gaps of variable height.

We study experimentally the dynamics of laser-induced cavitation bubbles created inside a narrow gap. The gap height, h , is varied from 15 to 400 microm and the resulting bubble dynamics is compared to a semiunbounded fluid. The cavitation bubbles are created with pulsed laser light at constant laser energy and are imaged with a high-speed camera. The bubble lifetime increases with decreasing ...

Modeling of surface cleaning by cavitation bubble dynamics and collapse.

Surface cleaning using cavitation bubble dynamics is investigated numerically through modeling of bubble dynamics, dirt particle motion, and fluid material interaction. Three fluid dynamics models; a potential flow model, a viscous model, and a compressible model, are used to describe the flow field generated by the bubble all showing the strong effects bubble explosive growth and collapse have...
